The legal field is growing rapidly, and attorneys need paralegals, or legal assistants, to help them deliver services to clients. Paralegals assist with filing court documents, perform legal research and help draft contracts and correspondence. There are many job opportunities available for paralegals in law firms, corporate legal department and government agencies.
The paralegal program at CSPS is taught by practicing attorneys with many years of experience. It is an accelerated, hands-on program designed to prepare students to be effective on their first day on the job. Through classroom instruction, practical demonstration and hands-on field work, students will get a real world introduction to the paralegal profession in Connecticut.
In order to succeed, students must have a high school diploma or GED, a solid command of the English language and a high level of personal motivation.
